The KameManNen 9919 combines a rounded top with squared, almost octagonal edges. Its rim is designed to hold thick lenses neatly, and the metal is machined in three dimensions so its thickness changes around the eye, which gives the front depth and a play of light and shadow. Small pad arms and nose pads keep the face clear.
Sizes: 46 or 48 mm lens width, 22 mm bridge, 145 mm temples.
About KameManNen: the company started in 1917 in Fukui, Japan, as a metal-plating workshop and, after the Second World War, became an eyewear maker in Sabae, the town at the heart of Japanese frame making. It is often called Japan’s oldest eyewear brand, and in 1981 it was the first in the world to make eyeglass frames from titanium. Frame colors come from metal plating and ion plating, a slow process chosen because the finish lasts.
