The KameManNen 1231 SUN is the crown panto 1231 made as sunglasses. The frame is the same as the optical version, so the character is in the lenses: a small step cut around the outer edge adds detail while keeping the crown panto look.
Size: 45 mm lens width, 23 mm bridge, 145 mm temples.
Also available as an optical frame: the 1231.
About KameManNen: the company started in 1917 in Fukui, Japan, as a metal-plating workshop and, after the Second World War, became an eyewear maker in Sabae, the town at the heart of Japanese frame making. It is often called Japan’s oldest eyewear brand, and in 1981 it was the first in the world to make eyeglass frames from titanium. Frame colors come from metal plating and ion plating, a slow process chosen because the finish lasts.
