The KameManNen 1231 is a crown panto with an engraved rim that catches the light and an inner metal layer that adds shading. The balance of round and straight lines and the layered rim construction give it depth up close.
Size: 45 mm lens width, 23 mm bridge, 145 mm temples, 40 mm lens height.
Also available as sunglasses: the 1231 SUN.
About KameManNen: the company started in 1917 in Fukui, Japan, as a metal-plating workshop and, after the Second World War, became an eyewear maker in Sabae, the town at the heart of Japanese frame making. It is often called Japan’s oldest eyewear brand, and in 1981 it was the first in the world to make eyeglass frames from titanium. Frame colors come from metal plating and ion plating, a slow process chosen because the finish lasts.
