The KameManNen 9917 is a wide take on the classic octagon. Its three-dimensional metal rim holds thicker lenses neatly and gives the sharp outline depth, and the pad arms and nose pads are kept small, so the frame never overwhelms the face.
Sizes: 47 mm lens width, 21 mm bridge, 145 mm temples.
About KameManNen: the company started in 1917 in Fukui, Japan, as a metal-plating workshop and, after the Second World War, became an eyewear maker in Sabae, the town at the heart of Japanese frame making. It is often called Japan’s oldest eyewear brand, and in 1981 it was the first in the world to make eyeglass frames from titanium. Frame colors come from metal plating and ion plating, a slow process chosen because the finish lasts.
